![]() ![]() Limited options with unlimited use made me immediately reach in my bag for the right tools, instead of desperately scrounging the area for some piddly broadsword that couldn't get the job done even if I threatened its broadchildren. My shields could break, but only if I used them in the dumbest way possible. Skyward Sword didn't waste my time with weapon durability, my sword just got stronger and prettier. Don't get me wrong, I adore the Wild Era games, but that adoration is there in spite of the stupid open-world padding they only threw in because it was the style at the time. ![]() If you need reasons to swap weapons, this guy's too fast for your axe, that guy's able to dodge really well up close but is rooted to the ground right in spearing range, his buddy is weak to ice attacks, and the guy over there has armor that needs broken before you can whale on him. If you "need to find" something, there's ammunition, monster parts, food, treasure chests, animals, various collectible geegaws, literally anything but the exact same weapon over and over again. ![]()
